Following Success in the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator Program, Regard’s AI-Powered Proactive Documentation Platform to be Deployed at Two Cedars-Sinai Hospitals
NEW YORK — Aug. XX, 2025 — Regard, the leading proactive documentation platform that analyzes the electronic health record (EHR) to detect actionable diagnostic insights, today announced an agreement with Cedars-Sinai that seeks to improve care quality by reducing documentation burdens and freeing up clinicians to provide more direct patient care.
Regard’s AI-powered Proactive Documentation platform arms hospitalists and other clinicians with clinical intelligence they need to provide the best possible care. The platform reviews and synthesizes data in the patient chart in moments, surfacing vital diagnostic insights and generating draft clinical notes before physicians see their patients. This efficient process enables faster, more accurate diagnoses, enabling physicians to deliver more targeted care.
Since 2020, Regard has successfully launched in more than 150 hospitals across 15 states and has recommended more than eight million diagnoses that have been accepted by clinicians, improving patient care. Regard’s platform reviews all data in the electronic medical record (EMR) and recommends diagnoses with supporting evidence, ensuring no critical information or context is missed. In the last year, the technology has helped improve comorbid conditions (CC) and major comorbid conditions (MCC) captured, generated more than $50M in revenue for Regard’s customers and delivered 5x ROI per user on the platform.
“Cedars-Sinai has been an invaluable partner and champion for us since the beginning,” said Nate Wilson, co-founder and president at Regard. “We look forward to continuing to advance how medicine is practiced, delivering significant impact for patients and physicians alike.”
Regard began its relationship with Cedars-Sinai in 2017, after participating in the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator, an incubator for emerging health-tech companies. Following the Accelerator, Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures invested in Regard’s Series B financing. Subsequently, Cedars-Sinai licensed the Regard documentation platform to serve patients and reduce administrative burden on physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Dr. Shaun Miller, chief health informatics officer at Cedars-Sinai, said Regard’s technology is being introduced to hospitalists at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.
“From its early days in our Accelerator program, we recognized Regard’s potential to help physicians diagnose and treat patients,” Miller said. “Our ability to enhance care quality, reduce burnout and support accurate hospital reimbursement makes this a win for both patients and clinicians.”
Physicians enter the profession to examine, diagnose and treat. Yet, their mission is often eclipsed by a sea of patient health data and documentation. What should be a seamless transition from chart review to diagnosis has become an endless search for critical information – one that forces them to spend precious time reading and re-documenting instead of caring for patients. The burden is shared by revenue cycle professionals who understand that incomplete or inaccurate documentation can delay or impede care, reduce quality results and lead to millions in lost revenue.
“As an early-stage investor in Regard and a leader in innovation, Cedars-Sinai is committed to improving patient care outcomes and experience,” said Maureen Burgess, a partner at Cedars-Sinai Health Ventures. “Regard has the potential to transform the patient experience as well as enable improved coding compliance for billing.”
The agreement with Cedars-Sinai represents a pivotal moment for Regard, underscoring that health systems need AI solutions that can drive measurable results in improving patient safety and care while contributing to greater financial sustainability.
